Spatial Correlation between Interferometric Stacking Pattern Deformation and Damage Distribution of Athens 7-9-99 Earthquake and Its Seismic Sequence

چکیده
The study presents an attempt to correlate the spatial distribution of damages and the ground deformation measure by SAR interferometric stacking technique in the case of Athens 7-9-99 earthquake. Damage maps were created for building collapsed and affected areas, built in a GIS environment. The location of the collapsed building was identified using a portable GPS resever and introduced as point thematic map in the GIS. The interferometric images show a clear deformation pattern of fringes mainly in the Thriassio Pedion basin as well as in Athens basin. Comparing the damage maps with the pattern deformation of the interferometric image in the GIS it appears that there in not a clear correlation between the amplitude of deformation and the observed damages. Other parameters seems to affect the distribution of damages the most importannt of which should be the local geological conditions and the vulnerability of the buildings . * Corresponding author: [email protected]

In present study, the effects of optimization on seismic energy spectra including input energy, damping energy and yielding hysteretic energy are parametrically discussed. To this end, 12 generic steel moment-resisting frames having fundamental periods ranging from 0.3 to 3s are optimized by using uniform damage and deformation approaches subjected to a series of 40 non-pule strong ground motio...

The island of Cephalonia, Western Greece, was struck by two strong seismic events, with magnitudes, ML= 5.8 and ML = 5.7 which occurred on Jan. 26, 2014 and Feb. 3, 2014 respectively. The first event was located near Argostoli’s town, whereas the second one was located at the north part of Livadi village. These two strong earthquake events followed by smaller aftershocks provoking extensive cru...

Radar sensors obtain regular and frequent radar images from which ground motion can be precisely detected using a variety of different techniques. The interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) is utilized to retrieve the spatial characteristics of the largest coseismic landslide Maleh-Kabood, induced by the Ms 7.3 Azgleh earthquake in Kermanshah Province, Iran. The available seven interf...

This paper study the recent seismicity in Earthquake hazard zones in India. A large historical earthquake event catalog to cover the period of 1900-2018, the parameters date, time, latitude, longitude, depth and magnitude has been used to calculating frequency-magnitude distribution (b-value) of seismic hazard zones in India. To convert different magnitude scales into a single moment magnitude ...

The primary objective of this paper is the evaluation of the InSAR derived displacement field caused by the 07/09/1999 Athens earthquake, using as reference an external data source provided by terrestrial surveying along the Mornos river open aqueduct. To accomplish this, a processing chain to render comparable the leveling measurements and the interferometric derived measurements has been deve...
